Today’s Question: Kidney Advice

The Gemara Berachos (61a) tells us “the kidneys advise one how to act.” How is this possible, to what are Chazal referring, does not the brain center command the bodies actions?

Yesterday’s Question: Dating Distractions

When looking for a marriage partner where do we find hinted in a verse of Tanach the three greatest distractions that can blind a person from choosing the correct mate?

Our Answer:

Tehillim (32:6) the word “Mayim, water” contains this hint!
The verse there states “Al Zos Yispalel Kol Chassid…” which the Gemara interprets to mean that everyone should pray to Hashem that He guides them to find their proper mate.
The Kli Yakar adds the following insight. The verse ends stating that one should pray that Hashem save them from drowning in Mayim, water. This great wave of Mayim is the three distractions that threaten to throw one off from choosing properly. Mayim is spelled: Mem Yud Mem (מים). Those are the first letters of the words: Mamom, money, Yofee, looks, and Mishpacha, family prestige! One must have the right perspective and much help from Hashem when seeking their marriage partner!
