I would like to welcome Rabbi Daniel Yaakov Travis, Rosh Kollel of Kollel Toras Chaim, a halacha kollel in Yerushalayim. He has published ten seforim in Hebrew and English, six of them with Feldheim. His popular articles aim to deepen our understanding of the mitzvos and minhagim we take for granted as Jews through the presentation of fascinating original sources and stories. His writings have often appeared in Hamodia and Yated Ne’eman. He plans on writing what he hears from Rav Moshe Sternbuch shlita on the parshah. May it be with the zchus of this Divrei Torah that Moshiach Tzidkainu comes one step closer.

The Close to Torah family would like to congratulate Rabbi Yehuda Spitz on receiving word that his published work ‘Kuntres Shnei Keilim’ has been one of the selected winning entries (from thousands) in the Municipality of Jerusalem’s Office of Torah Culture Competition.
The award ceremony will take place – in the presence of Harav Ovadia Yosef Shli”ta – on December 19th at the International Convention Center in Jerusalem.
May he have much continued success in all of his endeavors.
The Halacha of ‘Shnei Keilim’ is as follows; The Rama writes that two pots (meat and milk) cooking on a stove that touch are permissible B’dieved.
What are the parameters of this Halacha? Is moisture, handles or temperature a factor? Would countertops fall into this question?

I will B’Ezras Hashem be getting married in Detroit on August 5th (Tu B’Av). There are three needy couples getting married that same night in Yerushalayim. Two of them are unfortunately orphans. The other comes from a large family in which the father is blind.
They have nothing. I want us to help them!
I have secured a $10,000 matching grant that states that if I collect $10,000, the donors will match that. Thus far, we have raised over $5,500!
Yes, times are tough; please think about these three young couples who sit on the cusp of their bright future, for them times are even tougher.
Please offer us your support and help these needy families establish their homes.
Whether you can give $5 or $50, you can help make a difference.
Thank you and may we continue to only share in Simchas!
