    Who were the interviewers?

    @Betzalel

    My understanding (based on an email from R Kopel) was that it was a group of guys from Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim. In the interview they state that they also interviewed R Hutner zt”l, so my guess is that they tried to interview as many former taldidim of the Alter as possible.

    I recognize Rabbi Binyomin Luban’s voice and Rabbi Yitzchok Summers’ voice, who I learned with in the Chofetz Chaim Yeshivah.

    This is a precious recording. Thank you so much for posting it. My only critique is that the interviewers are pumping Rav Ruderman z”l for approval of the Chofetz Chaim derekh and validation that the “Alter” would have approved instead of objectively seeking out an Rav Ruderman’s understanding of the proper derekh.

    Daniel is correct, it is very apparent they were pumping him for approval. However, having learned in Baltimore and heard shmuessen from Rav Ruderman for several years, this is certainly what he held. Important to note that a Gadol such as Rav Ruderman was not effected by loaded questioning. Although their loaded questions does taint the interview somewhat once listened to in its entirety its very clear what the hashkafa that built most of the gedolim and yeshivos in the world, was.
